Update from our Legal Committee!!! 

Greetings from the legal committee,

For the last year and beyond, we have been working on Title 49 to support the towing industry and cooperating with law enforcement, lien holders, auto dealers, and the community. Our objective was to clean up the current Title 49, thus creating a more streamlined process for all involved.

This year, we came very close to passing our bill through the process, but we had to put the brakes on when the Idaho Auto Dealers Association (IADA) wanted us to submit our consent, non-consent, and even private towing rates to ITD. We argued government overreach and control of our industry, thus refusing to support the bill and stand our ground.

In situations like this, we need towing company support.

The larger our association, the more influence and power we will have over organizations like the IADA. We could increase our numbers above the IADA by recruiting a total of 111 towing companies and 50 tow truck drivers.

This year, we will continue to work on Title 49 to add policies focused on RVs and evaluate a new portal that ITD developed to help streamline the impound vehicle notification process. We will let you know of any more changes or issues.
